Congratulations to Ohashi Rira for making it into the finals in this year’s KL Fashion Week 2022 – KL 10 Designer Search.

Her entry, titled “Survivor” is based on a dystopian theme, a story about the contradiction between the advantages and disadvantages of technological evolution. The back story of the collection is post-apocalyptic fashion with influence and elements of punk, steampunk, grunge, gothic, and military styles.

Evolution elements can be seen in the evolution of silhouette and fabric manipulation techniques. The post-apocalyptic element is from the character in the post-apocalyptic teen fiction and color palette.

This is an outstanding achievement for our finalist, Ohashi Rira, who is in her Year 1 Diploma in Fashion Design, for making it to the Top 10 at an early stage of her studies with Raffles Kuala Lumpur.
